No film for Nagarjuna in 2009

Buzz is that top hero Nagarjuna will not be doing any film in 2009 or wouldn’t be shooting for any film for another 8 months. He wants to go slow now as he has other plans than acting; two reasons are cited for his long leave. With his son Chaitu (as Naga Chaitanya is called at home) is making grand debut this year as hero, Nag wants to oversee that maiden film.

Chaitu’s maiden film being produced by Dil Raju would be releasing in Summer 2009. The other reason is that Nagarjuna is corporatising his studio, Annapurna Studios, and is developing it with high-end facilities. So, 2009 will take most of his time for these activities, and he might not be taking up any other film until late 2009.

On the other hand, Nagarjuna's current movie titled King, directed by Sreenu Vaitla, is releasing on December 19th this year.

Producer Allu Arvind is thinking seriously to make another grand movie like his latest release "Magadheera", a four hundred years old love story. He is toying with the idea of taking up Palnati Charithra for this venture. The story of Palnati Balachandrudu would be launched in 2011 with rich graphics and high budget. The title role of Palnati Balachandrudu will be played by Allu Arjun.

The latest release from Geetha Arts by producer Allu Arvind is "Magadheera" in Rajamouli's direction with Ramcharan and Kajal Agrawal as the lead-pair. The flick is creating a sorts of records in collections. It is said that it has so far grossed up around sixty crores. The heroine of this flick is also making news. Comedian turned producer Ganesh is planning his second venture with power star Pavan Kalyan as hero and "Shock" fame Harish Shankar as its director. Reliable sources inform that Kajal has more chances to do heroine's role in this movie. Ganesh has already made a movie with Raviteja and Nayanatara "Aanjaneyulu", which is yet to be released.

As a child artiste, Shamili performed well as "Anjali" and went on win the National Award. Now as heroine of "Oye" she appeared on screen again, but audiences didn'd find any special attraction in her. Venkatesh and trisha off to Europe for Namo venkatesa

Venkatesh and Trisha's new film, Namo Venkatesa, in the direction of Seenu Vaitla is ready for regular shoot. Recently the film had its formal pooja and now the unit is heading for Europe for major part of the shooting. The pair is scheduled to take off to Europe for a month-long shoot before Trisha joins her Bollywood film opposite Akshay Kumar.

This is second time that Trisha has paired up with Venkatesh after their successful film Aadavari Maatalaku Ardhale Verule.

Power star Pawan Kalyan has agreed to do a film for star producer Ashwini Dutt. Dutt who is known for producing no-budgets barred films is trying to rope in ace director Rajamouli to direct the yet untitled venture. Whether or not Rajamouli accepts Dutt's offer to direct Pawan as a hero is the million dollar question that has Tollywood waiting with bated breath.

Kamal Haasan and Venkatesh - the deadly combination is set to enthrall us very soon. They are acting together in Chakri Toleti’s maiden directorial venture - Eenadu. The film produced by Kamal Haasan’s Raj Kamal’s Films International and UTV together has finished its shooting part and is gearing up for release shortly.


Eenadu is remake of critically appreciated Hindi flick - A Wednesday and it is shot both in Telugu and Tamil. In Tamil version, Mohan Lal replaces Venkatesh, while Kamal plays the same character of a common man in both the films.

Chakri Toleti who acted as kid photographer in Kamal Haasan starrer Sagara Sangamam has shot the entire film on RED Camera, a very first time in India. RED cameras are high-end HD cameras that bring best quality on to the screen.

Eenadu has many specialties to it - Kamal and Venky acting together for the first time, Kamal’s daughter Sruthi Haasan makes debut as music director, etc.

Stylish star Allu Arjun has many action blockbusters to his credit and each time he has been trying for something different. Meanwhile, he is giving finishing touches for his other venture “Arya 2” which is a sequel.

However sources indicate that the star was not happy with the title of the flick. He is looking out for an alternative title for this flick directed by Sukumar.

The movie also stars Kajal Agarwal, Navdeep and Shraddha Arya in the lead.

Magadheera Audio launched by Mega Brothers

Finally, it has happened, the audio album release of the film ‘Magadheera’ happened amidst huge fan presence. The music for this has been composed by M M Keeravani and the event had all biggies with the likes of Srinu Vaitla, Nagababu, VV Vinayak, Chinni Krishna, Murugadoss, Srikanth, Ravi Teja, Ali, Sunil, Venu Madhav, Meher Ramesh, Dil Raju, Surender Reddy, Bhaskar, Allu Arjun, Allu Aravind, Srihari, Pawan Kalyan and others.

The event was anchored by Suma and almost all of them spoke briefly giving their best wishes to director S S Rajamouli and team.

There were also entertainment programs with Siva Reddy stealing the limelight.

Finally, it was megastar Chiranjeevi who unveiled the album and as usual he took his own time in sharing his feelings without any hassles. He recalled how he was missing the film industry and how he is a proud father today looking at Charan’s improvement and growth as an actor.

Interestingly, many like Paruchuri, V V Vinayak, Rajamouli etc have strongly urged Chiru to get back to films once again and responding to that, Chiru was in his usual neutral mode which got the fans more curious.

The highlight of the film is said to be the horse chasing sequence and also the remix song ‘Bangaru Kodi Petta…’ which also has Chiru shaking his leg for a scene.

The film is due for release next month.

Mahesh Babu’s latest movie in the direction of Trivikram will be shot extensive for 45 days from 23 June to 6 August in Rajasthan. The unit went to Bangkok recently for a 15 days shoot.
